Do I have to do welfare-to-work activities during the COVID-19 pandemic?
It depends. Many activities are not being offered because of COVID. The counties should broadly grant “good cause” requests that allow you to continue to receive aid and not complete welfare-to-work requirements. If your county sanctions you for non-compliance, please contact our office for assistance. Counties have broad discretion to allow you to fix your sanction by signing a “cure plan” to continue receiving benefits.
In certain circumstances, you can still receive child care even if you are unable to follow your welfare-to-work plan.
