Are there any exceptions to the CalWORKs time limits?
Yes. Adults can get an extension of their time on aid when they cannot participate for the minimum number of hours for many reasons including:
- a disability (as long as there is no history of being sanctioned for breaking CalWORKs rules),
- caring for an ill family member, or
- caring for a child at risk of juvenile dependency (being placed outside of the home).
