What happens when I apply for IHSS?
The county will come to your house to do an evaluation. You will also need to have a doctor fill out forms. You can ask your doctor to do the forms or you can let the county ask your doctor for the forms.
The county will send you a written notice telling you if you are eligible and how many hours of services that you will get. If you disagree with the county’s decision, you can appeal.
