Can survivors of the Sacramento County floods get help?

Yes.  President Biden declared a major disaster declaration for Sacramento, Merced and Santa Cruz counties. If individuals suffered losses related to the recent storms and are under or uninsured, then FEMA funds may be available to help provide housing support and replace losses.

The fastest way to apply is through DisasterAssistance.gov.  You can also apply through the FEMA mobile app, or by calling 1-800-621-3362. You can learn more about the FEMA application process here.  You must apply by March 16, 2023.

Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) is available to workers, business owners, and self-employed persons who lost their job or business,or had their work hours reduced or interrupted because of the impacts of the severe storms.  Sacramento County residents must apply by February 22, 2023 unless they have a good cause reason.  You can file a claim on EDD's website or by calling 1-800-300-5616.
