Unemployment Insurance

Will COVID-19 affect whether I can get benefits?

People who usually were not eligible for unemployment insurance such as independent contractors, people who are self-employed and gig workers who were no longer working because of COVID-19 were eligible for benefits until the week of September 4, 2021.  Those people are no longer eligible for unemployment insurance.  However, for weeks prior to September 4, 2021 that you are eligible for but have not been paid yet can still be eligible.
