Senator Barrack Obama’ s speech delivered on March 18, 2008 in Philadelphia elevates the discussion of Race to the national level. This is the first time since the civil rights movement in the 1960’s that the issue of this country’s racial divide has been addressed directly, historically and in the context of a national campaign.
