Latest Pew report on undocumented immigrants
April 15, 2009 (posted by Brian Lawlor)The Pew Hispanic Center has issued a new report entitled A Portrait of Unauthorized Immigrants in the United States, which details the demographics of an immigrant population that is “more geographically dispersed than in the past,” and includes population and labor force estimates for each state. Among the more widely reported details are the demographic conclusions that undocumented immigrants “are more likely than U.S. born residents or legal immigrants to live in a household with children, a growing share of whom — 73% — are U.S. born citizens.” The full 52-page report is available for download.
